Lauren Steadman, George Peasgood and Claire Cashmore won a full set of gold, silver and bronze medals across the men’s and women’s PTS5 races at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The second day of paratriathlon racing saw ParalympicsGB represented in the PTS5 races at Odaiba Marine Park. In two tight races, British athletes showed their strength to come home with gold, silver and bronze.

Having taken the lead on the bike, Steadman claimed gold ahead of Grace Norman (USA) and compatriot Cashmore who took bronze. Peasgood led the men’s race from the beginning before being overtaken by defending champion from Germany, Martin Schulz, as the Brit claimed his first Paralympic medal. Read the full race report here.

The first day of paratriathlon racing saw Fran Brown finish 4th in the women’s PTS2 race, Michael Taylor cross the line 8th in the men’s PTS4, with Alison Peasgood guided by Nikki Bartlett (4th), Melissa Reid guided by Hazel Macleod (7th) and Dave Ellis guided by Luke Pollard (DNF) all competing in the PTVI events.
