DC Leisure has changed its name to Places for People Leisure and has also become a social enterprise as a result of the acquisition by property management and development group Places for People, a not-for-dividend organisation.
The close partnership between Places for People Leisure and the Councils Sports Development team, along with the strong working relationships with sports clubs and National Governing Bodies, has increased participation in physical activity and sport. The total annual leisure visits were just over 1,100,000 compared with just 290,000 prior to the new contract.
