Loch Lomond’s only country park commands impressive views over its waters, spanning 200 acres which include walled gardens, nature trails and guided walks. First recognised as a country park in 1980, it was originally developed in the early 19th century. Both the park and Balloch Castle were built by John Buchanan, a partner in the Glasgow Ship Bank.

Overview
Welcome to the Loch Lomond Aquathlon. This unique event involves a 750m open-water swim in the balmy waters of Loch Lomond followed by a 5.0 km run through the scenic country park grounds. The emphasis for this event is on fun and is an ideal race for novice open-water swimmers as the water is shallow. There is a limited prize list and therefore a limited entry fee. Youth race distance TBC. Wetsuits are mandatory.
