Meeting point
The Knockburn Sports Loch site is man-made and located below Kerloch Hill, near Banchory. It was developed several years ago by one of the Fleet Feet triathletes as a free-for-all sporting facility. As a result, it is ideal for open water triathlons.
Registration is in the conference center, with Cafe, next to transition and showers / changing etc.
The bike is an undulating course on good quiet country roads - very scenic winding route down to the Feugh valley for three laps which head up to the iconic AA phone box on the lower roads of Cairn o' Mount before a fast decent of sweeping turns to complete each lap before heading back up to the loch. The run is a one lap mixed terrain on quiet country roads and forest tracks before descending back to the loch where good spectator vantage points are afforded.
