Traffic management and road closures

Road closures and prohibition of waiting and loading/unloading at any time will be effective on Friday 21 June and Saturday 22 June 2024.

All timings are approximate, and all road closures are not at the same time.

Road closures are implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994 and apply to all vehicles, bikes and horses not involved in the event:

• Designated crossing points on the cycle and run courses will be signposted and marshalled, and we ask pedestrians use these at all times.
• Essential access for carers will be facilitated, contact swansea@britishtriathlon.org
• There are NO RESTRICTIONS at any time to any of the emergency services.
• No parking will be permitted on the bike and run courses and vehicle towing will be in operation. Please remove any vehicles from the public highway in any affected streets. Costs following the removal of vehicles may be recovered from the owner.

• Oystermouth Road ( A4067) Westbound Only 09:30 – 11:00
• Cambrian Place 09:30 – 11:00
• East Burrows 09:30 – 11:00
• Dunvant Place / part of Trawler Road 09:30 – 11:00
• Trafalgar Bridge/ Promenade 09:30 – 11:00
• Kings Road 10:15 – 11:30

Saturday 22 June

Road closed times:

• Oystermouth Road ( A4067) Westbound Only 10:00 – 18:00
• Cambrian Place 10:00 - 18:00
• East Burrows 10:00 – 18:00
• Dunvant Place/part of Trawler Road 10:00 – 18:00
• Kings Road 07:00 – 18:30
• Langdon Road (section only – refer to map) 07:00 – 10:00
• Trafalgar Bridge/ Promenade 10:00 – 18:00

Residents in Swansea Marina will have opportunities to access and egress from their properties during gaps in the racing schedule. Event staff and stewarding teams will manage this process. Specific instructions are below for affected areas.

Swansea Marina residents (beach side), including Trawler Road, Victoria Quay and subsequent side roads:

• Access into property: go to Swansea Civic Centre Car Park where cars will be able to wait and access given during scheduled times
• Exit out of property: go to Dunvant place, beside the Marriot Hotel to wait and access will be given during scheduled times

Swansea Marina residents (north side), including Burrows Place, Cambrian Place, East Burrows Road and subsequent side roads:

• Access into property: approach from the west on A4067, turn right into Somerset Place, right into Adelaide St to wait and access given during scheduled times
• Exit out of property: go to the end of your street at the road closure point to wait and access will be given during scheduled times
• Access is available via Dunvant Place and Oystermouth Road between:

10:00 – 11:30

13:35 – 14:00

15:20 – 15:40

If you wish to use your vehicle during the event, we strongly recommend parking your vehicle in a street not affected by the road closures before 6.30am on event days. However, if this is not possible, residents will only be able to leave or re-enter their premises in a vehicle in line with the traffic movement schedule.
