London League 2018: Round 2

Published:

"Hot" on the heels of the Kingfisher Aquathlon comes along the traditional Bank Holiday Monday Sprint Triathlon from Thames Turbo TC.

After a chilly series opener at the Kingfisher Aquathlon eight days earlier, it was warm sunshine and blue skies for Race 2 in the 2018 London League series, the Thames Turbo Sprint Triathlon. The early Bank Holiday start saw over 450 athletes tackle the 426m pool swim, 21.5km bike and 5km trail run in this long standing race at Hampton Pool.

In the individual competition overall honours in the Men's went to Sam Wade (Team Pedal Cover) in just under 55 minutes, followed by Will Russell (Thames Turbo) with Tim George (Clapham Chasers) in third.  For the Women Laura Addie (Pulse Fitness) took overall honours in just over 63 minutes, with Hollie Hindley (Optima) runner-up for a second week and Christine Lutsch (Serpentine) in third  (all results provisional subject to final confirmation).

In the Team events Clapham Chasers took the Women's race with hosts Thames Turbo taking the Men's. Clapham also took Mixed Team honours and Clapham Chasers had by far the most athletes racing to take the Mob Match honours too.

Congratulations to Hugo and his team for a great event, next stop Crystal Palace in 6 days for the Crystal Palace Sprint Tri.
