Woodhorn Museum Triathlon, Ashington, 6-7 July

Taking place at the picturesque Woodhorn Museum, the two-day event has something for everyone with open water swimming, triathlon, aquathlon and aquabike events.

There are also aquathlon events for children and young people aged from 8 to 14 years.

Across the two days the events make the most of the beautiful Northumbrian Countryside. Swimming takes place in the shallow freshwater lake within the grounds, before the cycle legs head out into the countryside and through several Northumberland villages. Participants then sweep down towards the coast for a stunning view of Cresswell Bay. Back in the park participants run through the surrounding woodlands and pass by the museum itself, which also doubles as the finish line and provides a gathering spot for spectators to cheer people on.
