Meet the three new athletes on British Triathlon's 2017 UK Sport Lottery Funded World Class Performance Programme.

Towards the end of 2016 British Triathlon confirmed its 2017 UK Sport Lottery Funded World Class Performance Programme athletes. Get to know the three new athletes joining the programme this year.

India Lee

India is a current double ETU Triathlon European Champion, picking up the top honours in both the standard distance and mixed relay events in Lisbon during 2016. 

A relative newcome to the sport, she took her first steps into triathlon in 2013, coming from a running background that saw her gain a University scholarship in the USA.

Sam Dickinson

Sam Dickinson is another late starter to triathlon, being introduced to the sport in 2013 after taking inspiration from the Brownlee Brothers during the London 2012 Olympic Games. A clear talent, two years later he was crowned British junior champion and topped the table at the British Triathlon Junior Super Series in 2015.

In 2016 he scooped silver at the ETU Junior European Championships, and represented Great Britain at the ITU Junior World Championships, where he finished 8th.

Above: Alongside triathlon Alex Yee is also a regular member on national athletics squads.

Alex Yee

Alex Yee is the current ITU World Junior Duathlon Champion and finished fifth in the equivalent triathlon championships in Cozumel, Mexico in 2016. He also helped anchor great Britain to ETU European Championship gold in 2016's Junior mixed relay event in Lisbon.

Known amongst his rivals for his lightning speed on two feet, Alex combines his triahtlon talent with being a record breaker on the running track.
