Sunderland Activators and GO TRI local volunteers

We have two opportunities to become involved in the ever-increasing Swim Bike Run landscape within Sunderland. Please read through the below and note the closing dates.

Advert 1: Swim Bike Run Local Coordinator

Location – Sunderland

British Triathlon and Sunderland City Council are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and dynamic partner who is interested in planning, and delivering our innovative swim bike run product GO TRI Local. This is a 12-month opportunity, to set up and deliver inclusive and engaging swim bike run opportunities for newcomers to the sport.

This is a funded opportunity, where the coordinator will receive funding of up to £3000.00 per year on a self-employed basis to deliver the swim bike run monthly opportunities. More information on how this works, will be given on this at interview.

This opportunity involves:

  • Identifying locations to develop a GO TRI Local partnership, with the support of British Triathlon.
  • Planning swim, bike and walk/run routes (or two of three) for beginning involving 1km lap for bike and run.
  • Booking facilities and registering opportunities with British Triathlon and opening bookings via their booking system.
  • Completing safety documentation and recruiting any helpers.
  • Promoting the opportunities.
  • Setting up and delivering the opportunities on event day and providing a welcoming and fun experience for those looking to start their Swim Bike Run journey.

Advert 2: Swim Bike Run Community Activator

Location – Sunderland

The British Triathlon Education and Learning Strategic Framework sets a vision to inspire the Swim, Bike, Run workforce through a culture of progressive learning and development. To achieve this vision, we need volunteer activators who can create a learning environment enabling members of the community to grow and develop their individual physical activity journeys. 

British Triathlon and Sunderland City Council are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and dynamic volunteers interested in being upskilled to deliver swim or bike or run in their local community.

As part of this opportunity, you will receive a free place on our SBR Community Activator course and will be supported to set up water confidence, bike confidence or walk/run opportunities in your local community. If you are interested in helping others to get more active and to learn new skills, then please get in touch.
