South Central worked in partnership with Hampshire & IOW Sport to host a Club Matters workshop just for Triathlon Clubs in Hampshire on 4/11/15.

 

Club Matters is Sport England's one stop shop for sports clubs. Club Matters provides free, convenient, practical resources to help you develop and run a sustainable club. 

 

All bar three clubs were represented at the ‘Hampshire Club Matters’. 15 people attended and listened to updates from Hampshire & IOW Sport on funding opportunities and updates from Triathlon England.

 

The Club Matters workshop kicked off with a session on Business Planning. The clubs were asked to think about if their club had a business plan, what did it look like? They were given tools to help such as the SWOT evaluation tool. This exercise brought up some very interesting results! Some clubs strengths were some clubs weaknesses. The evening produced some great fresh ideas and thinking points.

 

As a result the feedback was great, Hampshire clubs got a lot from the evening and would like to continue the Club Matters series and due to its success South Central will be surveying clubs very soon about holding a whole Club Development Day with CPD opportunities to run along side.
