HERC Triathlon are the latest Club to be bitten by the GO TRI bug! They have recognised what a fantastic opportunity GO TRI is not only to introduce people to Triathlon but to help develop their club.

They pride themselves on helping that novice, nervous person who really wants to complete a triathlon but doesn’t have the confidence to give it a go. They have decided to use their skills at getting people into triathlon by hosting 5 events this year.

Below is the advert for the first event.

‘The exciting inaugural GO TRI Hamble will be kicking off in the beautiful Royal Victoria Country park. It will consist of a 2km Run, 9km Bike and finishing off with a 2km rum. The event is held on the very quiet roads within the park with very minimal traffic. This event is tailor made for those giving multi sport a go for the first time. The course is designed to be easy to follow and its laps which means you can complete the full distance if you wish or if you are not feeling it on the day, give it a go with just one lap of each. The whole event is being powered by HERC Tri, who are a really fun and friendly bunch from Hedge End in Southampton. They will be there to help with any questions and to give you lots of support and encouragement. This is the first in the series of GO TRI Hamble’

GO TRI require minimum organisation. it is low key, so no need for chip timing, medals, racking etc. If you have more than 10 marshals, you getting a bit carried away!

With great support from Triathlon England who permit GO TRI for free, they have been able to keep cost to a minimum meaning it is only £6 to enter. This will still generate enough income for the club for potentially a level 1 and a level 2 coach!

I hear that they have very nearly sold the event out within the first week and 64% of those entered have never done a triathlon before!
