Meet Team Milton Keynes

Published:

We take a look at Team Milton Keynes

Team Milton Keynes is one of the largest Cycling and Triathlon clubs in the UK with a total membership of around 500.  The Club was formed in the 1990s when the local Triathlon and Cycle clubs merged in order to create one vibrant organisation to provide for all activities within the local world of Triathlon and Cycling.  The combined club thus has the energy and resources to provide its members with a wider more comprehensive range of activities to suit everyone from the occasional club rider to the elite level athlete.

The club’s activities include swim and running coaching sessions, circuit training, spinning sessions, Multisport (triathlon/duathlon) transition training, encouraging participation in and supporting Multisport events, providing a range of coaching for Youth/under 16s in Cycling and Triathlon and many forms of cycling activities such as Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Biking, Road Racing, Time-Trials and Club rides for all levels of cyclist.  The club is fortunate in having many accredited coaches and trainers who are able to lead these activities and help members of all ages.

Anyone over the age of six is very welcome to come along and participate in any of our activities to have a go and see what the club has to offer before deciding whether they would like to join the club and gain the full benefit of being a member.  It’s a really good way of meeting other people who are interested in the same sports and activities and a great opportunity to have the support and advice to try out activities and progress to competitive events.

The number of TeamMK coaching staff has grown a lot recently. Originally, former National Veteran Triathlon Champion, Mark Booth was the club Triathlon coach from the early 1990s. He is still very much involved. He was joined by first Robin Dowswell in around 2004 and then Toni Heap shortly afterwards. All three are BTF level 2 club coaches.
