Tri Henley is a Junior Triathlon Club.   We provide coaching, training and competition in Triathlon and related disciplines.  The Club is targeted at juniors in School Years 7 to 11 from Henley and the surrounding area who wish to progress their performance in running, biking and swim in a safe and fun environment.  Tri Henley is affiliated to Triathlon England and caters for British Triathlon levels: TriStar 2 (11/12 years), TriStar 3 (13/14) and Youth (15/16).

Our principal Club training night for bike, run and fitness is every Thursday 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Shiplake College, Henley on Thames (excluding holidays).  Club swim training is every Wednesday 7:15pm to 8:00pm at Henley Lesiure Centre (excluding holidays).  In spring and summer, we run early morning open-water swim sessions, either Bray Lake or Reading Lake.

All Club members enter ALL CLUB race competitions approximately once per month (more frequently in summer), be that triathlon, aquathlon or openwater swimming in summer, and duathlons, cross country, cycle cross or cycle sportives in winter.  These events usually take place on a Sunday.   The Club also encourages members to enter other triathlon events, especially those that are part of the Triathlon England Junior Race Series. 

 

Tri Henley triathlete Daisy Butterworth, a superfast and strong swimmer in Youth category, came out the swim at Portsmouth 2015 triathlon 100m ahead of the pack, so far ahead that the course marshalls thought she was from the previous wave and made her complete two laps of the run course, instead of one.  She was then disqualified!  Two weeks later Daisy won Gold Medal in junior category of The Henley Classic 2.1km Thames River race, upstream along the rowing regatta course at 5:00am.
