It has been a really busy and exciting year in South Central. There has been some change in the region with Jen Elkins having a little baby and Kelly Wickens stepping in to look after the region whilst Jen is away

In this last year we have seen three new clubs affiliate with Triathlon England. The existing 53 clubs have seen members increase. Triathlon is becoming the fastest growing sport in the UK. Hampshire had a club matters workshop dedicated to them and as a result of the success a club development day will be happening for the region’s clubs in the spring.

GO TRI has landed in the region with a mega impact. They were held at Reading (Green Park) Hilsea Lido, Alton and Wycombe district council hosted a number at different locations. These have all been really successful with a whole host of people trying triathlon for the first time. It has truly made triathlon accessible and achievable. There were approximately 1100 GO TRI starts in the region! Have a look at the great work here. Please do get in touch with Kelly to find out how easy it is to host a GO TRI. The region are looking forward to working with the already established GO TRIs and look forward to new ones such as GO TRI Hamble for next year.

South Central trained lots of new coaches and have continued to support and develop its coaches with a Head Coaches Workshop, online static cycling training and plenty of CPD opportunities with the local County Sports Partners. There have been 28 level 1 coaches, 16 certificated level 2 and 1 level 3 trained this year.
