A Day of Athletic Excellence at SWYD Sprint Triathlon

Published:

Sunday, 26th May, saw an exhilarating SWYD Sprint Triathlon in Barry featuring the Welsh National Sprint Championships, Stage 2 of the Welsh Triathlon Super Series, the 2025 Tim Tri Cymru Qualifier, and the British Triathlon Age Group European Qualifier. Athletes from across the country gathered to test their endurance, skill, and determination in a race that promised excitement, competition and fun!

The event began early with a 300m swim, shortened from 750m due to low water temperatures, making for a brisk start to the day. Participants then transitioned to a 20km bike ride through the scenic routes surrounding Barry, followed by a 5km run through picturesque areas. The weather was excellent and stayed dry until the race finished, providing ideal conditions.

Simon Webb (race director), supported by the dedicated volunteer team at All or Nothing Events, ensured a fantastic race was had by all in attendance, including a great finish-line party atmosphere! Clare Donovan, who served as the Chief Technical Official and her team ensured a smooth race with no penalties throughout the event, showcasing exceptional organisation commitment and great racing spirit by all those involved.
