Sport has played a transformational role in Nelson's life. As a child growing up in the modest parts of Kenya, a chance encounter whilst playing sports one day, resulted in a generous grant from wealthy benefactor and the opportunity to come over to the UK to continue his studies and pursue his passion for sports. This foundational childhood experience has been the catalyst for the opportunities experienced in his life, as well as informed his professional path focused on levelling the playing field and driving transformations around diversity, equity & inclusion, social impact and culture change.

He is the author of 'Rise of the 2020 Leader - Entering a new era of Trust, Purpose & Inclusion - featured as an Amazon bestseller for Leadership and Business Management. 

Formerly, as the global Head of Culture and DE&I at Aesop he was responsible for driving a company-wide strategy around their People Commitments including Culture Transformation, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Engagement and Well-being. 

Prior to joining Aesop, Nelson led the Global Organisational Culture Practice at North Highland serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and supporting them with their people transformation agendas. Previously Nelson spent a decade at Goldman Sachs in a variety of leadership roles including Head of Strategy and Change within the European asset management business as well as leading several operations teams.
