The winner this season of the inaugural ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships in France, Hall exited the swim in a British trio alongside fellow super-swimmers, Jessica Learmonth and Sophie Coldwell. With a one-minute lead over the chasing group, which included series leader Yuliya Yelistratova (UKR), the Brits worked well together during the flat, six lap bike course and pushed the pace on in a style we have seen on many occasions this year. Their efforts were temporarily halted when Hall crashed at a dead turn, but she was able to remount and continue, with Learmonth and Coldwell holding back until their colleague had recovered.

Despite those issues, the Brits had extended their lead at T2 to more than two minutes heading out onto the 10km run. A calf injury would unfortunately end Learmonth’s hopes on the run, but Hall ran strongly to the finish and crossed the line more than one minute clear of Yelistratova, who managed to pass Coldwell in the final stages of the run.

Hall's victory was her third ETU European Cup podium finish of 2016, which included a second placed finish in her season opener in Quarteira and a gun to tape victory in Madrid.  The win in Turkey meant that Hall would finish second in the season-long ETU rankings, the top spot being taken by Yelistratova.

In the accompanying ETU Triathlon Junior European Cup race, Lucy Farquhar, in her debut international outing, took second place to Germany’s Sophie Fischer.

Russia’s Vladimir Turbayevskiy was the winner of the men’s ETU Final, with James Teagle the top British finisher in eighth position. Second placed Rostislav Pevtsov (AZE) secured the 2016 ETU points series.
