Britain’s Chloe Polland was the stand out swimmer, exiting the water with a one minute lead over the rest of the field. Pallant, who won bronze in the Duathlon Championship earlier in this week, was further back in eighth but was by far the strongest runner.

Having spent the week in Canada, she said: “Now we’ve had a week, I feel like my body has come alive again. I definitely felt fired up today, and I’m really happy with that.”

Slack ran well to secure bronze to add to the silver she won in the ITU Cross Triathlon Championships on Wednesday. Pollard was rewarded for her efforts with fourth place overall and gold in the U23 event.

Mark Buckingham was fifth in the elite men’s race, which was won by Canada’s Matthew Sharpe and Richard Allen was fifth in the U23 event.

British atheltes also won various Age-Group medals, full results are linked HERE.
