PruHealth World Triathlon London just a month away

Published:

London is preparing to host the world’s best international triathletes at the PruHealth World Triathlon London, just one month from now on 31 May. Five thousand amateur athletes will also have the opportunity to compete on the same Hyde Park course that memorably hosted the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Provisional start lists set up the exciting prospect of both Brownlee brothers, Alistair and Jonathan, taking on the current world number one and ITU World Champion, Javier Gomez (ESP).

The women’s race could see Britain’s ITU World Champion Non Stanford return after her injury lay off to start alongside current world number one and two, Jodie Stimpson and Helen Jenkins.

The events are confirmed to be taking place back-to-back over the sprint distance with the men’s race at 2.30 and the women’s at 4.05pm. The elite paratriathlon is at 8.00am.

Although grandstand tickets sold out in just an hour, spectators are able to enjoy the events free of charge in Hyde Park.

The PruHealth World Triathlon London also doubles as the final selection race for Team England at the Commonwealth Games. Aaron Harris put in his bid for selection with a career-best seventh place finish in Cape Town and competition for places should inspire exciting performances from the home athletes.
