The Rother Valley Sprint Triathlon takes place this Sunday 16 September representing the final opportunity for age-group athletes to book their place in the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team for the 2013 Alanya ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships.
The qualification process began at the Grendon Triathlon in May, with the Worthing Sprint Triathlon providing the second opportunity in August.
This weekend, the 750m swim will take place in the main lake of Rother Valley Country Park, as competitors complete a single triangular lap before embarking on an undulating 25km bike course. The final 5km run will be fast ensuring an exciting finale for spectators supporting their friends and family as they aim for those remaining places on the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team.
GE Great Britain Age-Group Team Manager, Dawn Vaughan is looking forward to the event commenting: “It’s been a high quality qualification process for the European Championships in Turkey next year and I am sure the Rother Valley Sprint Triathlon will ensure we travel to Turkey with a strong GE Great Britain Age-Group Team with medal-winning potential.”
Any athletes intending to qualify at the Rother Valley Sprint Triathlon event must register their intent to qualify on the British Triathlon website by 5pm Friday 14th September 2012.
