New Events Refresh the 2022 Season

Afan Argoed Cross Duathlon Championships

Even Storm Arwen couldn’t disrupt the proceedings at Afan Argoed, as the Escape to Afan Cross Duathlon, held by Tough Runner, hosted the 2021 National Cross Duathlon Championships. As the 2021 event season drew to a close, athletes from far and wide descended to Afan Argoed in what was the final National Championship event of the 2021 season. With conditions heavy underfoot and disruption effecting many parts of the country, credit to the event organisers for being able to deliver a safe event in testing conditions.

Welsh Triathlon Super Series

2022 Welcomes the fourth instalment of the Welsh Triathlon Super Series, a collaboration of televised sprint and standard triathlon events which showcases Wales as the natural home of Triathlon and multisport. Six incredible stages from all corners of Wales. Set within National Parks, along our incredible coastline to the shadow of Wales industrious past, the 2022 series will take on three sprint and three standard stages which will allow Welsh clubs and age group athletes to go head-to-head across all age categories.

Barry Hosts Super Series Finale as experience shows at final stage.

The SWYD sprint triathlon at Barry Island (Sunday 3rd October) hosted the final stage of the 2021 Welsh Triathlon Super Series as GOG Tri’s Rhian Roxburgh and ATAC’s Oli Simon take both overall titles with final stage victories.

Mallory Park - British Triathlon Grand Final

Mallory Park hosted the British Triathlon Grand Final; with 22 races taking place in one day, there was plenty of action and success for Welsh Athletes.

Dooley impresses on debut at Porthcawl- Stage 2 of WTSS and National Sprint Championships

The Welsh Triathlon Super Series returned on Sunday 8th August for Stage 2, held at the Porthcawl Standard Triathlon. This was also the 2021 National Standard Distance Championship which saw an impressive performance from Chloe Dooley on debut, as well as 2019 winner Liam Lloyd returning from injury.
