Age-Group Athletes Descend to Clumber Park

Published:

Age-Group athletes will this weekend head to Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire as they hope to gain qualification to the Great Britain Age-Group Team.

The Clumber Park Duathlon will see athletes shake off the winter and test their fitness at the start of the new season. The event offers qualification places in both the sprint and the standard distance events at the ITU World Championships and ETU European Championships.

Both run sections take place on fully closed tarmac roads, through beautiful woodlands, making this a picture perfect setting for the event. The bike course will then take athletes through some of the most stunning tree lined routes in the UK, including some sections of closed roads. The long rolling roads will test athletes strength as the roads pitch from climb to descent.

The final opportunity for athletes to qualify for the Great Britain Age-Group Team for the 2016 Aviles ITU Standard Distance Triathlon World Championships will be at Windsor Duathlon, whilst there are two further qualifying events for the 2017 ETU Standard Distance Duathlon European Championships and one for the 2017 ETU Sprint Distance Duathlon European Championships.
