Cambridge Duathlon presents final qualification opportunity for Nancy

Published:

The Cambridge Duathlon takes place this Sunday 15 April at Bottisham Village College in Cambridgeshire representing the final opportunity for age-group duathletes to book their place in the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team for the 2012 Nancy ITU Duathlon World Championships in September.

The qualification process began last month at the Dambuster Duathlon, which doubled as the British Duathlon Championships with Anna Turvey (30-34) and Phil Mosely (35-39) taking top honours overall.

The second qualification opportunity took place at the Oulton Park Duathlon, where competitors competed around a fast-paced closed circuit course with Ian Roberts (30-34) crossing the line first with top female Ellie Barnes (25-29) finishing fourth overall.

The Cambridge Duathlon will see competitors complete an opening 7.5km run around the Cambridgeshire village, before competitors embark on a three-lap bike course covering 40km. Once into T2, duathletes will head out for their final 7.5m run and look to confirm their place in the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team.

Any duathletes intending to qualify at the Cambridge Duathlon event must register their intent to qualify on the British Triathlon website by 5pm today, Friday 13th April 2012.

The event is being organised by Cambridge Triathlon Club, with more information available on http://www.cambridgetriathlonclub.com
