Czech out the Britons in ETU action this weekend

Olympic silver medallist Jonathan Brownlee is one of six Briton’s heading out to the Czech Republic this weekend to compete in the Karlovy Vary ETU Triathlon Premium European Cup.

What: Karlovy Vary ETU Triathlon Premium European Cup

When: Sunday 28 August 2016

Where: The race takes place in Karlovy Vary, a spa town in the western Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. Taking place over the standard distance, athletes will set out for the swim with three 500m laps of the mlýnský Rybnik. Once through T1, they will embark on a 5km cycle through Karlovy Vary down to the main cycling course where there will tackle seven 4.6km laps. The race comes to a close following a 10km run in the south of the picturesque town.  

Who: Fresh from his Olympic silver medal winning performance in Rio, Jonathan Brownlee returns to the pontoon as Great Britain’s headline act in the Czech Republic.

Four more Britons line up in the men’s race; with Morgan Davies taking part in his first ETU Cup race since May, Christopher Perham who had a top ten finish at the recent FISU World University Triathlon Championships, and also James Teagle and George Goodwin who both return to action having raced at the Holten ETU Sprint Triathlon Premium European Cup in July.

Heather Sellars flies the British flag solo in the women’s race. She’ll be looking for another top-10 performance as she did in Lisbon and Chateauroux earlier this year.
