The Great Britain Age Group aquathlon team will be decided this weekend following the RedVenom / Tri It - ITU World Aquathlon Championship Qualifier Hetton Lyons Park tomorrow (Saturday 24 May).

The event will be held on a closed road traffic free circuit at Hetton Lyons Park, Hetton Le Hole, County Durham, and will consist of a 750m two lap lake swim in Hetton Lyons Lake followed by a 5km four lap tarmac run.

The first seven athletes in each five year age band who have registered with British Triathlon will be eligible to qualify to represent Great Britain at the PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final London, 11-15 September in Hyde Park.

The unique opportunity for amateur athletes to race at the London 2012 Olympic triathlon venue has already attracted unprecedented interest from Age Group athletes across the country.

Thousands of spectators are expected to visit Hyde Park over the Grand Final weekend, which is free to view and will feature the best triathletes and paratriathletes in the world.
