Our elite athletes are out in force this weekend as the season really begins to ramp up. After success in Gran Canaria, Alistair Brownlee is back in action, whilst 8 further Brits fly the flag in Chengdu. Prepare for an exciting weekend ahead.

IRONMAN 70.3 St George

Alistair Brownlee headlines at IRONMAN 70.3 St George in Utah, USA on Saturday. The Olympic Champion joins an experienced group of British athletes, including Olympians Tim Don and Stuart Hayes, as well as reigning 70.3 world champion, Holly Lawrence. Mark Buckingham and Rachel Joyce complete the British line up against what will be a strong international field.

The course (1900m swim | 56mile bike | 13.1mile run) features a lake swim followed by bike and run courses which are billed as ‘the most challenging on the IRONMAN 70.3 circuit’.

Chengdu ITU Triathlon World Cup

There’s a strong GB line up at the Chengdu World Cup in China too this coming weekend. The format involves sprint distance heats on Saturday followed by a super-sprint distance final on Sunday. This will provide a good chance to test race skills and speed for many atheltes who are on their way to the ITU World Series event in Yokohama next weekend.

The British contingent is made up of Non Stanford, Sophie Coldwell, Lucy Hall, Jessica Learmonth, Vicky Holland, Liam Lloyd, Ben Dijkstra and Gordon Benson. For the full lineups, please visit here.
