A big weekend lies ahead as both our elite triathlon and paratriathlon stars head to Yokohama to stake their claim for an ITU World Series win. Elsewhere, middle distance racing continues in earnest. Read on...

WTS Yokohama

The ITU World Triathlon Series visits Japan on Saturday. Jonny Brownlee is back following early season injuries, and Tom Bishop races having already won silver in Abu Dhabi in March. The women’s line up includes Olympic bronze medalist, Vicky Holland, and Rio 4th place finisher, Non Stanford. Although the race is in Yokohama rather than Tokyo, this is a good opportunity for some of our top athletes to gain further experience of racing in Japan in the lead up to the next Olympic Games.

Full line up: Sophie Coldwell, Lucy Hall, Vicky Holland, Jessica Learmonth, Non Stanford, Gordon Benson, Tom Bishop, Adam Bowden, Jonathan Brownlee

IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona

Alistair Brownlee is on the start list to race IRONMAN 70.3 Mallorca this weekend following his impressive win in St. George last weekend. However, he’s elected to rest before competing at IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona next weekend. The Mallorca start list still boasts some very strong British names including 2008 Olympian Will Clarke, David McNamee and Emma Pallant.

Sospan Sprint Triathlon Llanelli Youth and Junior Super Series

A selection of the best young triathletes in Britain head to Llanelli this weekend to take part in the second round of the Youth and Junior Super Series. The event, which forms part of the Llanelli Multi-Sport Festival, is set to welcome over 200 triathletes to the startline as each vie for points in the series standings. The event carries extra value as it doubles up as a selection race for the ETU Triathlon Junior European Championships.
