Landon and Turvey win at Rother Valley Sprint Triathlon

The Rother Valley Sprint Triathlon took place on Sunday 16 September representing the final opportunity for age-group athletes to book their place in the GE Great Britain Age-Group Team for the 2013 Alanya ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships.

Ross Landon (15-19) won the event, which included a 750m swim, undulating 25km bike course and final fast 5km run in 01:11.04. In second place was Sam Village (25-29) with a time of 01:11.12, and in third was Jonny Mclean (30-34) with 01:12.14.
 
In the overall women’s event, Anna Turvey (30-34) was once again celebrating crossing the line first in a time of 01:15.34. Her nearest rival was Molly McKenzie (15-19) who finished over five minutes behind in 01:20.44. In third place was Kathryn Berry (25-29) who finished in 01:21.10.
 
The qualification process began at the Grendon Triathlon in May, with Worthing Sprint Triathlon providing the second opportunity in August, before the last chance at Rother Valley Country Park.
