2017 has arrived and with it brings the first ITU Triathlon World Cup in Cape Town this weekend. Find out the latest below.

Cape Town ITU Triathlon World Cup

It's that time again for a number of top athletes to open their international seasons, this time in Cape Town. The first ITU Triathlon World Cup is jam packed with a mixture of talent and experience, with 40 elite men and 31 elite women set to line up.

Eight athletes will fly the British flag this weekend, including strong swim-bikers Lucy Hall and Jessica Learmonth. The pair will be joined by Hannah Howitt and Julie Nimmo in the women's race which features 2016 ITU World bronze medallist, Ai Ueda.

The men's quartet comprises Grant Sheldon, Liam Lloyd, Marc Austin and Fergus Roberts.
