Spain’s Mario Mola finished second in the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final race and secured more than enough points to win the world title for the third year in a row. There was drama for the British team, including a disqualification for Alistair Brownlee.

British Mixed Relay Team wins World Bronze
Great Britain’s Mixed Relay team won bronze at the ITU World Championships on the Gold Coast. The team, which comprises of Junior and U23 athletes initially finished fourth but was upgraded to bronze after the New Zealand team was disqualified.

Wallace and Waugh win medals at Junior World Championships
Erin Wallace and Kate Waugh won elite junior silver and bronze medals on the Gold Coast, demonstrating that Britain has a healthy pipeline of young athletes as well as senior stars. Matt Willis was the top finisher in men’s junior race.

Vicky Holland wins ITU Triathlon World Title
Vicky Holland lifted the ITU world title after a gutsy performance on Australia’s Gold Coast. She finished well clear of USA’s Katie Zaferes, her only rival for the title after a season-long battle from March to September across four continents. Georgia Taylor-Brown also finished third overall.

Every member of Great Britain Paratriathlon team won a medal at the ITU World Championships on the Gold Coast in Australia. The haul of ten medals included gold medals for Dave Ellis, Lauren Steadman and Hannah Moore.

Dickinson wins U23 Silver at ITU World Championships
Sam Dickinson won Great Britain’s first elite medal of the ITU World Championships on the Gold Coast, Australia, with a brilliant silver in the men’s U23 event. The race was won by New Zealand’s Tayler Reid, and the women’s event was won by another Taylor, USA’s Taylor Knibb.

Grand Final to decide ITU world champions this weekend
Triathlon and Paratriathlon world titles are up for grabs this weekend on Australia’s Gold Coast. Vicky Holland has the opportunity to become ITU world champion and is one of four British women ranked in the top six. Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee both feature, there’s U23 and junior titles and Britain has defending champions in the paratriathlon, too.
