Emma Pallant bounced back from injury to win IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona along with a host of other Brits finishing on the podium. Lucy Hall saw her World Cup changed to a duathlon due to the cold, but the racing in Britain was sizzling as athletes qualified for the GB Age-Group team.

Olympic silver and bronze medallists, Jonathan Brownlee and Vicky Holland have been named as part of the Great Britain squad for the Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay Nottingham along with Commonwealth bronze medallist, Marc Austin and former World Champion, Non Stanford.

What's coming up this weekend

We have three major international events coming up as part of a busy and exciting two-week period. Before we get to WTS Nottingham and Leeds, there’s the ITU Paratriathlon World Cup at Eton Dorney featuring an stacked line up. Nottingham is starting the build up already with 3000 triathletes racing there this weekend as well as races further afield in Kazakhstan and Barcelona.

British Paratriathlon Squad wins seven medals from seven starts at WPS Yokohama

Great Britain’s paratriathletes opened the 2018 season in style, winning three golds, a silver and three bronze medals in the first ITU World Paratriatlon Series event in Yokohama, Japan. Paralympic silver medallist, Lauren Steadman, was among the gold medallists alongside George Peasgood and Dave Ellis.

Unexpected World Series Bronze Underlines Stanford’s Class

Having not reached an ITU World Triathlon Series podium for more than two years, Non Stanford surprised herself with bronze in Yokohama against a high quality field. Flora Duffy (BER) won the women’s race to take the Series lead, and Mario Mola (ESP) won again to extend his lead and defense of the ITU world title.

High quality fields at ITU World Triathlon Yokohama

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games move a step closer this weekend with the Olympic qualification period opening ahead the ITU World Triathlon Yokohama. The race marks the third round of the ITU World Triathlon Series and the opening round of the ITU World Paratriathlon Series. British athletes including Jodie Stimpson, Non Stanford, Marc Austin and Joe Townsend are set to race.

What's coming up this weekend

We take a big step closer to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games this weekend with the Olympic qualification period opening for the ITU World Triathlon Yokohama, Japan. There’s top-flight triathlon and paratriathlon with athletes including Commonwealth champion, Joe Townsend and Commonwealth bronze medal winner, Marc Austin on the start lines. Meanwhile, on home soil, there is a qualification race for Age-Group athletes to qualify for 2018 and 2019 ITU races.

What’s coming up this weekend

There’s a global feel to this weekend’s race schedule, with a big British contingent in Denmark for the ETU Powerman championships as well as significant races in Australia and Italy. Closer to home, there’s the rearranged Clumber Duathlon championships, which were disrupted by the Beast from the East in March. With Nottinghamshire in mind, there’s just over a month until the ITU Mixed Relays come to town, quickly followed by the ITU World Triathlon Leeds.
